Boarding, done properly

A complete dry lining service, from first board to finish

Dry lining is the modern way to build walls and ceilings — fixing plasterboard by dot & dab or on a metal stud frame, ready for tape & joint or a skim finish. It's faster and cleaner than traditional wet plastering, lets insulation and services sit neatly inside the wall, and gives a crisp, consistent result on every plot.

Wall2Wall Group is a CHAS-accredited plastering, dry lining, insulation and rendering contractor based in Stowmarket, Suffolk. Our dry lining teams deliver everything from single rooms to multi-plot new-build packages across East Anglia and Essex — one accountable team, on programme, every time.

Dry lining FAQs

Common dry lining questions

What is dry lining?
Dry lining is the process of fixing plasterboard to walls and ceilings to create a smooth surface ready for skimming or direct decoration. Instead of applying wet plaster straight onto blockwork, boards are fixed using dot & dab adhesive or a metal/timber frame — giving a faster, cleaner and well-insulated finish. It's the standard wall and ceiling build-up on most modern new-build and commercial projects.
What's the difference between dry lining and wet plastering?
Wet plastering applies plaster directly onto masonry, while dry lining fixes plasterboard first — by dot & dab or on a stud frame — and then finishes it. Dry lining is faster to install, puts far less moisture into the building, lets insulation and services be built into the wall, and is the usual choice for new-build housing, apartments and commercial fit-outs.
What is insulated plasterboard (insulated boarding)?
Insulated plasterboard is a board with an insulation backing bonded to it, fixed to walls or sloped ceilings to improve thermal performance in a single operation. It's widely used on retrofit and insulation-upgrade work — including sloped ceiling areas — to cut heat loss and then take a skim finish.
Do you offer dry lining packages for house builders and developers?
Yes. We deliver complete dry lining packages for house builders, developers and main contractors — metal stud partitions, boarding, MF ceilings and tape & joint at scale, plot to plot and on programme, with an optional skim finish.
How much does dry lining cost?
Dry lining is usually priced per square metre or per plot, and depends on the wall build-up, ceiling type, insulation and finish required. We provide clear, itemised quotations — send us your drawings or a site address for a free, no-obligation price.
What areas do you cover for dry lining?
We're based in Stowmarket, Suffolk and cover Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex — right across East Anglia — for domestic, house builder and commercial dry lining work.
